1. 句子或者動詞不能充當主語或者賓語

Give children a comfortable home environment is partens' duty.
Parents' duty is to give children a comfortable home environment.

Students receive job training is important.
It is important for students to receive job training.

Students receive job training can become competitive in the labour market.
Students can become competitive in the labour market if they receive job training.

continue, start, intend, attempt, decide, learn後面經常加動詞不定式作為賓語

Many rural residents have decided move to cities.
Many rural residents have decided to move to cities.

2. 主謂語不一致
2.1 動名詞和不定式作主語的時候謂語動詞一定是單數

Raising standards of literacy are the government's priority.
Raising standards of literacy is the government's priority.

To rear a child alone are challenging to any parent.
To rear a child alone is challenging to any parent.
注：指父母其中一人parent，指父母2人parents。

2.2 不可數名詞作主語的時候謂語動詞一定是單數。
如果主語是"...of..."的詞組，謂語的數需要和"...of..."之後的名詞保持一致。

The adequacy of financial resources are crucial to operation of a non-for-profit organisation.

The adequacy of financial resources is crucial to operation of a non-for-profit organisation.

動詞用單數的名詞
the press, the public, news, the government, the police force, advertising

動詞用複數的名詞
authorities, people

2.3 當主語後跟隨"with, together with, coupled with, combined with, as well as, like"的時候，謂語動詞跟隨主語變化。

Overworking, coupled with poor diet, lead to physical degeneration.
Overworking, coupled with poor diet, leads to physical degeneration.

2.4 有一些代詞後面的謂語動詞一定是單數。
anybody, anything, everybody, everything, nobody's, nothing, somebody, something, each, none, every

Even if somebody fall sick, everything go on as usual.
Even if somebody falls sick, everything goes on as usual.

2.5 "there be"句型中謂語動詞的數隨其後面的名詞改變。

There is a number of countries which perform poorly in cantaining pollution.
There are a number of countries which perform poorly in cantaining pollution.

2.6 由"what, whether, how, that, where"引起的主語從句中、謂語動詞常用單數。

How we cope with massive technological change in the 21st century are an interesting issue.
