11. 連詞的使用錯誤

11.1 一般來說，２個連遐不能同時出現在句子當中。
典型的例子包括"because, so, although, but".

Although the crime rate is falling in many parts of the world, but violent crimes are constantly rampant.
Although the crime rate is falling in many parts of the world, violent crimes are constantly rampant.
Although和but不能連用。

11.2 (;)類似於連詞，(,)不具連詞的功能
Education has been made available to more people nowadays, however, many adults have some problems with literacy and numeracy.
Education has been made available to more people nowadays; however, many adults have some problems with literacy and numeracy.
However是個副詞，不是連詞。前後都是完整句子，因此不能用逗號。

10.3 以下詞語不可以連接句子。
"however, therefore, otherwise, thus, hence"

He studied hard; therefore, he passed the test.
He studied hard. Therefore, he passed the test.
He studied hard, so he passed the test.
He studied hard, and therefore, he passed the test.

People like to think that being on a diet is healthy, however, there is considerable evidence to the contrary.
People like to think that being on a diet is healthy; however, there is considerable evidence to the contrary.
however是副詞，不能連接2個句子。

11.4 多於一個名詞，動詞，形容週等出現的時候，需要用并列連詞"and, but, or"。

Smoking, drinking are banned in many places of work.
Smoking and drinking are banned in many places of work.
Smoking和drinking是主語，要加連詞。

More people would prefer cycling, walking if conditions were right.
More people would prefer cycling or walking if conditions were right.
cycling和walking都是賓語，應該用連詞。
注：people是複數，所以用原動詞形態prefer。
